My first where I'm certain I'll finish and very excited!
One of my favourite blogs is Crafts from the Cwtch - Sarah is such an inspiration, and makes some utterly beautiful and scrummy work. Her latest knitalong is anything from Booknits on Ravelry. I have just started knitting the very pretty Dragonfly Wings, and this is perfect timing and inspiration for me to keep going - this is very definitely a little bit of self indulgence for me, a beautiful shawl in gorgeous touchable, strokeable yarn. I have had some beautiful A Stash Addict yarn in my stash for quite a while now and looking for the perfect project for it and this is most definitely it. Here it is so far - hopefully you can see that this is one of the sparkly yarns - SQUEEEEEE!

Oops
How did it get to June! I'm frantically craft fairying for my favourite forum at the moment, so I can't share what I'm doing for that, although I am proud to say I have completed and am currently wearing my first pair of sock weight yarn socks. I love them! They are the Hermione everyday socks, available on Ravelry
Can you spot the mistake though?
I'm working on starting up a new blog, which is really my sound off board. I'll link to it hear when its ready, but it basically is my private musings on ME and its implications and impact on my life. I'm hoping it can also be a place others can share their experiences of hidden illnesses, and that it may provide some much needed support for others.

A Ta DAH! and another granny....
Honestly, I'm not really sure why I've agreed to make another granny stripe blanket so soon after the first, but I have, its in progress and I love it, not my usual colours, but I may struggle to pass it on to its rightful owner....so here it is in infancy, it's quite a bit bigger now, but it'll still be a while until its complete (hopefully less time than the first though!)
And here it is.....
If I said I loved this blanket I'd seriously be understating things! Its gorgeous, has a nice heaviness to it, cosy and snuggly, perfect :) And I made it!
It's made entirely from Stlyecraft DK, weighs about a kilo, so used a total of 10 100g balls. I'm not sure of all the colours, I started out with the Lucy pack from Attic24, and added colours as they took my fancy. I love how it has turned out, and it's proving very popular here

Living with ME
This is post I've been considering for a while, and I'm also not sure how much I'll share. I have ME. It is still only a fairly recent diagnosis, and something I really struggle to cope with at the moment. One thing I very much struggle with is lack of knowledge or understanding. I found this today and it struck a chord for me

I'm at that glorious and exciting stage of *almost* having a new finished object to show off. This one is even more exciting for me than usual. It's not perfect by any means, but it is the first crochet project I ever started, in May 2011, when we moved into our new home. I am working away hard at it, and hoping there is some good light to show it off when I finish it. I have less than 2 (very big) rounds to go.
There is something oh so satisfying in edging a blanket, and I'm really enjoying it (especially as its cold, and a perfect time of year to be working under a lovely snuggly blanket)
Would you like to see some sneaky in progress shots?

I shall be along very shortly for the reveal....

Wow, it's been a while - I have so much to share. This year I'm focusing on finishing things. I made a lot of lovely (I think!) things for Christmas, and now I'm working on loose ends....
Oh and I FINALLY finished my Hitchhiker - I absolutely love it, but I'm really not sure I'd do it again
These are my first ever completed socks. Aran weight and snuggly warm, made from gorgeous www.astashaddict.co.uk yarn. I love Danielle's work, and have quite a bit of her yarn in my stash. Hopefully I will be showing more of it soon.
Kwoosh! I love this, its huge and toasty warm and oh so simple, a perfect switch off knit. King Cole Riot dk yarn, one ball made a scarf too big to fit in shot easily.
A few Christmas gifts....

I'm going to work on keeping this up to date from now on, and may even have a few patterns of my own to add, hopefully. This year I'm aiming to make some clothing for me as well as the Cs. I'm also making my first forays into the world of quilting, and some soft furnishings for Big C's room are in progress.
I'm going to be taking part in the Ravelry CAL, and hopefully the Crafts from the Cwtch Sock KAL. More on these soon....
Finally I hopefully have something very exciting in the works :)

Where to start....
Well, my life has changed rather drastically since my last post, but I'm not ready to share what happened here I think, suffice to say that I am back to being a single mum with my 2 gorgeous little people.
On a positive note I've been doing a lot more crafting lately, and the Cs and I have just got back from the amazing Natural Mamas Big Camp. I have a lot of WIPs on the go at the moment, my sister's birthday present (age of brass and steam in a Katya sock weight yarn. I'm on repeat number 5 of the pattern, and fairly certain I won't be doing that again!)
My first Age of Brass and Steam, in gorgeous Nimu silk, in the Eton Mess colourway
Finished cushions
My new craft area....
Current Age of Brass and steam, nearly finished....far deeper blue, the camera has washed the colour out
AND my latest crochet project, more Nimu, a very simple ripple scarf for me, again colour are much better in real life
