What to do with all these apples!

I have been tackling the enormous stack of windfall apples that seem to be taking over the garden - we inherited a tree, that was absolutely covered in blossom when we moved in here in April, and now it's living up to its promise.

So far we have 4 jars of Spiced apple chutney, apple wine, and speedy apple cider on the go.  In the freezer I have rather a lot of apple pie/apple crumble filling, and me and the Cs have been munching our favourite apple crumble with ice cream a lot.  I need to keep my camera with me so I can capture these things....

I still have around 100 apples waiting, and lots more still on the tree, so if anyone has any ideas of what else I should make, please let me know.

Other progress, I have a bottle of raspberry vodka steeping, and planning to make limoncello today, all for christmas gifts.

Sock Knitting Adventures....

So, I've agreed to take part in a Sock knit along on the Natural Mamas forum....

I have never ever knitted a sock before, so this should be interesting - I've bought some King Cole ZigZag (decided I couldn't justify something too luxurious to begin with), and a circular needle in the right size, I don't get on with DPNs at all, and thought I would try magic loop.

So here it is (well this was yesterday, and taken with my phone, as the Cs seem to have borrowed the camera)

After the initial teething problems with the cast on (OK 4 attempts!) it seems to be going well, I'll keep you posted.

I'm SOOOOOOO excited!

To be finally getting off my backside and starting my much planned and pondered over blog.....I seem to have got my crafting mojo back, after taking part in an amazing Craft Fairy over at Natural Mamas, and I'm beginning the long haul to what will hopefully be my first truly crafty Christmas.

So on the plans so far....
We have some Tomato and Roasted Garlic chutney (winged it, so really don't know how this'll turn out)
Lemon or Cranberry Vodka (or both, you never know)
A probably growing number of crochet cushions, these seem to be in demand
Scarf for Sisters OH, M
Something pretty for Sister, A
Pretty purses/bags for best friends S and J
Waldorf Dolls, bedding and clothing for the Cs
And play food for the Cs new play frame/toy shop
For my mum and dad, I really can't decide yet, working on that
And for S's little girl, a bolero/shrug like the one Big C wheres in my profile photo.

I have a huge stack of yarns and fabrics which seem to be growing, and a growing list of WIPs and planned projects, so I'm hoping blogging about it will help me to keep on at it.
